Thomas Frischknecht starts at the adidas BIKE Transalp Challenge!
16.06.2004 - The adidas BIKE Transalp Challenge becomes more and more attractive for the olympic preparation of the mountain bike superstars!
Besides the german national team, Thomas Frischknecht wants to prepare for the Olympic Games in Athens 2004 with the participation at the toughest stage race in Europe.
The silver medal-winner of Atlanta ’96 will team up with Tom Ritchey, mountain bike legend and former national level racer. The US-American Ritchey who invented the mountain bike together with Gary Fisher and Joe Breeze, will have a hard time to keep up with the World Cup victories record holder.
It will be very interesting to keep an eye on the encounter between the Marathon World Champion 2003 Frischknecht and Karl Platt, who achieved very good rankings at this year’s Sea Otter Classics races and wants to win the Transalp like in 2002.
The Team T-Mobile wants to play an important role with Bart Brentjens, number one in the world rankings who forms a pure dutch duo with Al Thijs (Piet de Wit).
Jochen Käß and Stefan Sahm will experience the stage race the first time.
Tinker Juarez, Team Siemens-Mobile/Cannondale, former World Cup racer and long-distance race serial winner, wants to cross the finish line first, together with Werner Wagner (Cube), and get the victory in the Masters category.

Amaai nog ni. Nen bompa (relatief gesproken dan) op pad met een wereldkampioen. Zeer bijzondere voorbereiding toch wel voor Frischknecht hoorMick wrote:The US-American Ritchey who invented the mountain bike together with Gary Fisher and Joe Breeze, will have a hard time to keep up with the World Cup victories record holder.
