Is wel in team dus gegadigden mogen het altijd laten horen.

In maart 2007 plan ik nog een trainingsstage in de Ardèche ter voorbereiding daar is ev.ook nog plaats voor.

…the clock is ticking for the TransWales 2006 and with only 10 weeks to go preparations are in full flow.
Solo category
Due to popular demand the Merida TransWales Mountain Bike stage challenge has opened its doors to solo riders. Due to an increasing number of riders who wanted to take part in this summers’ new event, but couldn’t find a suitable partner a new category has been opened to accommodate solo riders.
Solo riders will be in their own category and will battle it out to win the male, female and veteran categories.
The setup is that solo riders will ride the same linking stages as the team riders but will ride the special stages on their own rather than dividing the stage into two halves. It adds roughly another 30km of riding to the whole distance over the course of the week.
There are 10 team places currently up for grabs and can be filled either with teams or solo riders. To enter simply go to the event website www.mtbtransuk.co.uk download an entry form and send it through with the word SOLO in the ‘team partner name’ box. We will confirm successful entries within a couple of days.

Zoveel te beter moet je ook niet kiezen tussen up- en downhill

Maar het is nog niet zeker of het doorgaat in Wales in 2007.
Na het succes in Wales in 2006 heeft de Scottish board de organisator gevraagd om iets gelijkaardigs in 2007 te organiseren in Schotland.
Maar gezien de organisator ook al de Merida 100 reeks organiseert wordt het wat te veel van het goede.
Het wordt dus Schotland of Wales of als ze genoeg vrijwilligers en bijkomende sponsors vinden misschien toch beide.

Er is volgens Michael Wilkens van het trans wales team 2006 volgend jaar zoals het er nu uitziet zeker een trans schotland. Als er bij hun veel vragen zouden komen over een trans wales willen ze hem wellicht organiseren. Maar zoals het er nu uitziet blijft het bij de trans schotland. Deze rit zal dan waarschijnlijk in de omgeving van de 7stanes plaatsvinden. In ieder geval willen ze ook nu weer de verschillende bikeparken aan elkaar koppelen.
